Kristen has worked as a Certified Occupational Therapy
Assistant since graduation from TCC in 2006. Her 6 + years experience has been
in Hospital Acute Care, Outpatient Pediatrics, Long-Term Care, Skilled Nursing,
Assisted Living, Independent Living, and Home Health therapies. She has worked
with children and adults with Traumatic Brain Injuries, TIAS, CVAS,
cardiac/other medical conditions, orthopedic surgeries, Autism spectrum,
Cerebral Palsy, Sensory Processing Disorders, musculoskeletal deficits, and
developmental delays. Kristen has completed continuing education courses which
have included “A Strength Base Approach to Asperser's”, “Sensory
Defensiveness”, “Minimally Invasive Methods for Treating cerebral palsy”,
“Neuromuscular Electric Stimulation for Children with CP”, as well as shoulder
taping, disease processes and cognition with aging adults, vestibular
rehabilitation, and orthopedic courses.
While in college, Kristen worked part-time as a preschool teacher/caregiver.
In addition to her professional experience, she has actively volunteered in
church-related children and youth programs/organizations for many years.
